The journey to create the finest unlimited class loudspeaker in the world has stretched the
very boundaries of what is technically and creatively possible in loudspeaker design.
Expanding the performance envelope of the paradigm shifting Q-Series has been an
exponentially challenging task, setting even higher benchmarks than those achieved by our
groundbreaking Q5. Our challenge at the outset was to blend radically new and cutting-edge
technologies into a reference loudspeaker, which from the faintest whisper to the most
eardeafening sound-pressure levels maintains a yet unheard degree of composure and fidelity.
This challenge has been met. The result is a cost-no-object loudspeaker of limitless dynamics,
high efficiency, extreme extension and redefined transparency. Everything we have expected
and something we could have never imagined. Magico is proud to unveil the Q7.
[DRIVER TECHNOLOGY]
In order to achieve the lofty goals of this project under all operating conditions, each and
every driver of the four-way, five-driver Q7 has been designed from the ground up. Effortless
to drive, an astounding 94dB efficiency pushes the Q7 to unimaginable performance levels
while maintaining every grain of resolution and nuance. To create such a highly efficient
loudspeaker the entire complement required new motor systems backed with exceptionally
powerful neodymium magnets, 10 times higher than industry norm. Dual 12-inch bass woofers
and a 10-inch midbass bring Nano-Tec® cone technology into our largest Magico-designed
drivers to date. Working together, they take resolution and extension through the lower
octaves to a new level.
[ENCLOSURE]
Using Advanced Finite Elements Analysis to study ‘in-box’ driver behavior, the Q-Series'
construction techniques were redeployed in a configuration more finely tuned to the specific
parameters of ‘driver to enclosure’ interaction. Comprised of over 100 parts of aluminum,
copper, and stainless steel, all affixed with over 650 fasteners in a calculated labyrinth of
internal bracing, the Q7 provides the ideal combination of mass, dampness and rigidity. A new
three-axis matrix frame, copper decoupling levels, and a 'floating' midrange cavity yield the
most effective multi-faceted strategy of eliminating the cabinet as a secondary acoustic
source, making the Q7 a remarkable architectural feat.
[CROSSOVER]
Magico's elliptical crossover techniques have been employed to create the Q7 4-way filters.
Once again, we have partnered with industry leaders to create a new top shelf of components
to meet the very special demands of this project. Custom ultra-high precision resistors,
capacitors and coils were designed to comprise the crossover network.
The Q7 is our finest achievement: a technical triumph that fully expresses the ultimate passion
and capabilities of Magico. We can think of no better statement to make regarding our

・Philosophy
The 501 monoamplifiers are based in many areas on the proven technical concepts of the
Series 7. However, the "small" monoamplifiers do not have to hide behind their big brothers.
・Amplification
The amplification circuit of the 501 monoamplifier, is based on the technology of the amplifiers
710 and 700. Core is a novel voltage amplification stage without feedback to the input (no
differential amplifier!). It consists of linearized amplifier stages which operate up to a cutoff
frequency of 80 MHz. The current amplification is done in three stages, each stage uses a very
small and thus almost linear operating range. The high Class A operation supplemented by
47,000 microfarads of storage capacitors are resulting in a nearly infinite impulse response.
Massive copper bars on the amplifier board and to the speaker terminals ensure that the
power of the 501 monoamplifier is actually available at the speaker. The high-precision idle
current management ensures optimal Class A operation for all operating conditions, without
the necessity of any readjustment in the music signal. Optimal sound is thereby guaranted
immediately after switching on. Extensive control circuits that protect against high frequency
or DC signals at the input or output short circuit ensure safe operation in all situations.
The input level is also monitored continuously.
・Powersupply
A total of six power supplies - optimized for each function - feed the 501 monoamplifier. The
power supplies to supply the digital and audio circuits are electrically isolated from each other
through opto couplers and transformers . Two modern switched-mode power supplies with a
total power 1'200VA complemented by high performance filtering at the input and output
provide supply voltages in audiophile quality. Locally, these voltages are additionally stabilized
with 6 high speed soulution voltage regulators. They are considerably more stable than
achievable with any conventional, transformer-based power supply technology.

MAGICO INTRODUCES THE S5
After an incredible five years since the Magico V3’s first release, we are excited to
introduce its successor, the S5. This three-way, four-driver floorstanding loudspeaker
borrows heavily from the peerless Q-Series' technological arsenal and employs new
manufacturing techniques to create what is the most value-laden Magico loudspeaker yet.
The eye will be first drawn to the S5’s uniquely new curved enclosure, which is the world’s
first utilization of ½” thick, 16” diameter extruded aluminum walls in a loudspeaker. Taking
design cues from our iconic Mini, the cabinet design minimizes diffraction effects, internal
resonance, and damping requirements. The elegant, paintable exterior offers a shallow profile
that will complement a wide variety of end-user living environments. Available in our signature
black anodized finish, the S5 is also offered in an array of high gloss and satin M-COAT®
paint blends. A removable black grille is included – a first for a Magico speaker.
Incorporating entirely new dual-10” Magico hybrid Nano-Tec® bass drivers, the S5 is
capable of an astonishing output of 118dB (@ 50Hz-1 meter). Combining an outer cone ring
of aluminum and a Magico Nano-Tec dust cap, the new drivers combine superb power
handling in the low bass with distortion-free response at the top of their pass band. The S5
midrange's dual neodymium, underhung motor system with pure titanium voice coil former is
powerfully efficient and extremely low in distortion. The tweeter is a beryllium diaphragm
model found in selected competitors’ $100,000+ reference offerings. A new neodymium
motor system has been customized to match the S5’s huge dynamic capabilities and power
handling, while retaining its inherent wide dispersion and low distortion. As with all Magico
drivers, the latest custom computer simulations are used to optimize electromagnetic and
thermal behavior.
Tireless research and development have provided the means for a distinct new product that
is undoubtedly Magico. Continuing an uncompromising commitment to quality, design and

The PerfectWave DAC, introduced to the world in 2009, was a ground breaking product. A
state-of-the-art D to A processor that connects to any digital audio source including USB and
with the optional Bridge, the home network. Regardless of the input or the delivery method,
music played through the PerfectWave DAC was unparalleled and is uncompromised.
The Mark I has been hailed by reviewers and customers alike as one of the single best
sounding pieces of audio equipment in their system.
And now we introduce the Mark II.
The Mark II comes with a completely redesigned digital processing board, software, connecting
cables and remote control.
New features of the Mark II include 192kHz 24 bit asynchronous USB, NativeX mode,
non-saturated logic data path, 11 additional power supplies, lower jitter, new clocks and a
balance control for the output.
The new Mark II outperforms the Mark I by a significant margin with its improved sweet, open,

[What’s new in the Mark II?]
・A built in Digital lens
A Digital Lens is much like the Power Plant regenerator in its ability to produce a new and
perfect output from
any quality you put into it. The Digital Lens takes in any digital audio signal
you feed it and regenerates a new and
jitter free version sent on to the DAC. The new Lens feature is called NativeX.
NativeX is selectable from the front panel or the remote control. NativeX will reduce incoming
jitter levels to
below 1 pico second, regardless of how jittered the incoming signals are and when
this happens, the associated
glare and hard edge to the music vanishes and in its place, the most analog-like music you’ve heard emerges.
This will change everything you think aboutdigital audio.
NativeX works on lowering jitter on any selected input on the PWD. This means even highly
jittered sources
such as an Apple TV or a computer sound card will suddenly have a fog of
jitter removed. The feature is rather
remarkable.
Even the optional Network Bridge, which has its own built in Digital Lens benefits. Because the
path between the
output of the Network Bridge and the MKII processing board is short, there’s
little chance for added jitter: but not
zero. Running the already low jitter digital audio from the Network Bridge through NativeX helps open the sound up
quite nicely.
・Asynchronous high speed USB
A Media DAC, like the PerfectWave, can match up to either a computer or a home network.
The PWD can do
both with the Network Bridge installed. For those customers connecting to their computer without the Network
Bridge, there’s USB available. USB communication, if handled properly, can have every sound quality advantage of
a dedicated CD transport or Network Bridge.
New in the MKII is a completely redesigned high-resolution USB path. Asynchronous and capable of 24 bit 192kHz
performance, the new USB input sounds every bit as good as the best digital audio. Finally, computer audio without
limitations and compromise to the sound quality and it’s all yours in the new MKII. Using a high quality USB cable
between the PWD and computer, like a quiet MAC Mini, and you have an instant media server that can be
controlled through any number of hand held devices like an iPod, iPhone or Android using a 3d party controller
program. Your music can be managed by iTunes or Ammara for ease of use.
In early 2012, eLyric Music Manager will have USB audio output support available which will complete the
PS Audio system for USB based audio. eLyric MM on your computer and eLyric Controller on your handheld device
and high-end audio just got a lot more interesting and fun.
・11 new power supplies
It’s perhaps no surprise that the engineers at PS Audio are big on power and getting it perfected. The MKII
redesign certainly didn’t leave out a whole new approach to power supplies and wait till you hear what perfected
power sounds like on the PWD. Open, powerful, with slam and authority you didn’t know the PWD was capable of.
PS Engineering added 11 new local power supplies in the MKII. Each of the 11 supplies is a super low noise design
placed strategically around the digital processing board to lower noise, jitter and talk-back. Properly designed power
supplies are like one way gates that provide a clean and plentiful source of needed power to each section of a
circuit, while keeping out unwanted noise, jitter and potentially degrading artifacts generated in digital audio
circuits.
Special attention was placed on power supply additions involving clocking and timing functions. Because there are
multiple low jitter clocks laid out on the digital processing board, PS engineers were careful to provide a local power
supply designed to feed the clock and keep noise and jitter to a bare minimum. The results of these low noise power
supplies placed around the board are quite noticeable- mostly as an openness that simply wasn’t present in the
MKI. On larger orchestral pieces of music, individual instruments take on increased air and separation between
each of the players.
・Lower jitter clocks
Digital clocks are an essential element to a digital audio media DAC. They play a significant role in audio
performance that can ranging from poor to spectacular depending on how they are implemented. Clocks can be
either fixed or variable frequency devices depending on the design, but generally fixed clocks will outperform
variable clocks and these are what PS Engineering depend on to set the critical timebase in the PWD
MKII.
A proper digital timebase clock has extremely low jitter and provides a stable reference for the digital audio data.
The clocks implemented in the new MKII benefit from jitter levels cut in half from those of the MKI. In addition to
lowered jitter and improved stability, each of the internal clocks in the MKII benefits from its own power supply
that keeps the clock isolated from all other timing devices in the circuit.
The results from lowered jitter clocks, isolated with our added power supplies, is audible improvements in
improved upper harmonics of instruments and a reduction in digital glare, sometimes present on more jittered
electronics.
・Balance control
It hasn’t escaped us that many of our customers rely on the PerfectWave DAC as their primary music source
feeding a power amplifier directly. In fact, that is our preferred method of connection. Many preamplifiers only add
an extra layer of unwanted veiling and restricted dynamics to the sound. Unfortunately the MKI had no provision
for adjusting the balance between the left and right channel, thus any mismatched loudspeaker pair or unequal
room acoustics contributed to a slight skewed image when using the PWD directly.
The MKII solves that problem with the addition of a balance control, capable of shifting the balance between left
and right in small 1/10th of a dB increments adjustable from the new (and supplied) remote control.
You view the changes in balance from the PWD’s touch screen and everything can easily be handled from the

A completely new passive bass management system. Wilson’s have always been configurable
in the time domain for each installation. The XLF designation refers to Wilson’s
new bass management system. This simple system will allow users to optimize bass
quality and extension to match the characteristics of the sound room. Since the system
is completely passive, it avoids the sonic pitfalls endemic to all active bass management
systems.
New Architecture. While instantly recognizable as an Alexandria, the XLF version has
undergone a major cosmetic revision. Additionally, using Wilson’s latest cabinet-analysis
tools, Wilson’s engineers lowered the already vanishingly low resonant contribution of
the enclosure.
The Alexandria XLF is constructed using Wilson’s latest composite materials, including
S-material.
Wilson is currently taking orders on a first-come, first-served basis. First shipments are

The essence of Hegel D / A converters is that Hegel is able to get very high sound quality
from standard audio players such as computers or iPod type devices. The problem with these
common players is that they send digital data in an uneven flow: jitter, resulting in a "muddy"
sound with a lack of dynamics and detail. Hegel DAC contains a technology that stores data
stream and builds it up again in exactly the right rhythm. This reduces the effects of the
quality of both the computer and digital cable.
HD11 also has a new technology for impedance matching developed by Hegel. This can be
adjusted for less than perfect impedance in normal RCA digital cable. Further reduce this jitter,
which in turn results in increased precision.

The GIYA G3 is the third loudspeaker in the GIYA series. It is the smallest of the range, but
designed to keep in line with the exceptional performance and sound characteristics of its
larger siblings, the GIYA G1 and G2 loudspeakers. Laurence Dickie and his engineering team is
currently busy finalising work on the GIYA G3, and it will be available May 2012.
Here is a photograph of the raw material needed to produce the pattern substrate for the
GIYA G3 cabinet tooling. Blocks of foam with properties that are the ideal base for pattern
making are seen placed on the vacuum table of our three axis CNC router, ready for the first
cut!
To the left is a teaser photo of the G3 shadow. Further details on the GIYA G3 will be
revealed later this year at the official launch in Tokyo
The G3 has evolved into a typical GIYA both in appearance and in
acoustic performance but
in a smaller package. The strong attributes of ultra low colouration,

Reference MkIII CD Player」登場!! The latest update to our full sized CD player range now takes the Red Reference to Mk III
status. This update makes a major technological change to the disc loading mechanism to
incorporate a geared motor drive. The door will now open or close seamlessly at the touch of a
button. Additionally the latest USB technology has been added to provide a true asynchronous
192KHz input allowing use of the internal DAC to playback high resolution music stored on a
computer. As before the stunning looks and state of the art design remain. The ground
breaking DAC technology gives the most accurate reproduction of compact disc or stored
media that can be obtained. With internal 176.4KHz upsampling data transfer, selectable RAM
buffer clock retiming and now 18000 tap length filtering the RED Reference Mk III earns its
reference status in the Chord range.
Starting on the outside the RED features the Chord trademark design and is manufactured
from solid aluminium giving a rigid support structure for the CD mechanism. The Mk III version
keeps the lens in the CD dome giving a view of the loaded disc. The front panel design
incorporates ball bearing push button control for the commonly used functions and a dual
display showing CD status on one side and input, buffer and frequency information on the
other. Uniquely the CD mechanism sits at 45 degrees to allow front access even if placed
on a stand or in a rack. Access to the CD is at the touch of a button operating a highly
geared motor controlled door. At the rear connections are made via gold plated phono or
BNC coax, plastic optical fibre or balanced XLR style connections.
Internally the latest CD Pro 2 mechanism from Philips is re-clocked using a highly accurate
crystal oscillator then the synchronised data is fed to the upsampling and filtering electronics.
Here the 18,000 tap length WTA filter is used to minimise the transient timing errors and
reconstruct the digital data to either 44.1, 88.2 or 176.4KHz sampling frequencies. This data
is fed to the rear XLR and optical output connectors and also via a dual data bus to the
digital to analogue conversion electronics. Based on the QBD 76 the digital signal is converted
from 176.4KHz to analogue audio using 18,000 tap filtering and 76 bit digital signal processing
core. This is followed by 64 bit 7th order noise shaping, 2048 times oversampling rates and
improved pulse width modulated elements. This gives much better measured performance,
better detail resolution with a smoother more focused sound quality. The DAC also features
RAM buffer technology that sequentially takes in all the data, re-times, it then sends it out
giving jitter free operation. Digital data from other sources can also be fed into the RED via
the optical, AES balanced XLR or USB connections.
All of the above innovations are implemented in Field Programmable Gate Arrays that can
be reprogrammed by simply changing the EPROM memory chip, thus future proofing is assured.
The RED Reference Mk III retains its status as a truly unique product. As a standalone CD
player it is able to deliver the best reference CD playback. The addition of a 192KHz capable
asynchronous USB input along with the more traditional optical and AES inputs also gives it
the ability to act as both a CD transport and DAC for other computer and audio components

announced a new Series 2 Alpha DAC.
The Alpha DAC Series 2 builds on the strengths of the previous Series 1 using new clocking
and isolation technology resulting from research done while engineering the new Berkeley USBinterface.
The appearance, controls and operating functionality of the Alpha series 2 is identical to the
Alpha DAC 1 except for the addition of a Series 2 label on the rear panel.
From a performance perspective, according to Michael Ritter of Berkeley Audio Designs, the
new Alpha DAC Series 2 has greater imaging precision, timbral purity, and resolution as
compared to the Series 1.
The pricing on the new Berkeley Audio Designs Alpha 2 DAC is $4995 for either Silver or
Black finishes. The price of the now discontinued Berkeley Audio Designs Series 1 was $4995
for Silver and $5100 for Black. Because Berkeley was able to negotiate a larger purchase
price discount for Black, the two options are now unified in pricing.
Note that the Berkeley Alpha USB interface, priced at $1695, is available only in black.

A new revolution is on the way that will change the way to play music. Or, better, audiophiles
are going to realize that this revolution already changed the world. The hi-fi enthusiasts
community is usually closed to novelties: most of the times if something looks different it
sounds worst and if it’s better it sounds different. In such a subjective and emotional sphere,
noticeable displacements from the habit are rarely perceived as improvements (at least at
the very beginning). Unison Research has investigated one of the bigger but less considered
problem in the music listening: the way the musical information start its path to the ear of
the listener.Many efforts have been dedicated to each steps: digital-to-audio converter,
preamplifier, power amplifier, loudspeakers, connection cables, mains conditioning, room
correction, etc. but the way digital information are streamed from the CD is usually “took as it
is”. There is no dubt thet the Compact Disc is a good solution for storing data; CD drives are
optimized for recovering digital data. The exactness of the reading is given by sophisticated
algorithms and by multiple reading cycles. When used for audio playback CD drives work in a
different way. A single reading is all you can expect: physical and mechanical problems, any
dirty on the surface of the CD, vibrations of the reading unit,etc. may cause errors in data
reading.So Unison Research technical staff started to look for a different way for retrieving
audio information from a CD. The idea is to treat audio tracks as digital information, extract
them and store them the same way data are processed and then stream the information

performances.The output stage is a newly designed tube amplifier employing two ECC82/12AU7
and two ECC83/12AX7 designed mixing a tube balanced-to-unbalanced preamplification stage
(as developed in UnicoPRE). The output stage is follower with parallel cathode with low
inpedance like the ine used in the UnicoCDE. This choice enhance the audiophile character of
the Music Server. But, as stated before, UnicoMusicServer is much more than a player.
The main idea was to avoid ant problems in the CD reading (errors due to mechanical and
physical limits) and the best way achieve this result is to rip the track as data and store them
in the Hard disk. In order to perform this work at best, Unison Research technical staff based
the system on a mini ITX board equipped with a 1.2GHz processor with all the stuff a modern
PC would need: 1Gb RAM, ATAPI and SATA interface, USB and Ethernet connections, VGA
output, etc. The motherboard is powerful, complete and reliable, able to satisfy all the
requirements including the complete silence (thera are no fans thanks to a big aluminium
heatsink). Windows XP has been chosen to allow future upgrade.All the main function are to
hand (ortofinger) displayed on a wide 6,5 inches VGA Colour screen equipped with a resistive,
highly reliable touchpanel. The big display (actually the bigger you can find in a Music Server)
allow the user to fully enjoy the contents of his system: show the album covers or video clips,
browse the archive and navigate trough the function of the system. When you turn on the
music server, the display shows the main menu which consists of a series of buttons with
touch screen from which you can access various features of the Server. The features are:
Rip: This is the heart of the unit. From here you can also rip CDs storing information such as
album title, author, and CD covers.Library: from here you can scroll through all the CDs that
have been stored on the hard disk, the screen shows the CD covers that can be scrolled by
simply touching the screen. Tapping the central image to access the player that lets you
listen to the album selected. The software that handles audio playback maximizes the
potential of the hardware through a low-level code.
Play cd : You can also listen to a CD as if it were a normal CD player, with this feature, the
Music Server becomes an elaborate CD player.
Manager: This feature allows you to delete a cd from the database and create playlists.
Playlist: With the Music Server not only can you listen to the tracks of a CD at a time but
you can also create playlists (with the functionality Manager). This feature allows you to
listen to the playlists you have created.
Setup: The appearance of the individual screens can be configured, depending on your taste,
allows choosing from a set of pre-configured skins.
WebRadio:This feature is also available via Internet radio with Music Server.
In addition, the Music Server is controlled remotely with an iPod or iPad that exactly
reproduces the screen of the server. You can press the buttons with a touch, just as if you
were using the screen of the Music Server. Thanks to high class brightness and contrast all
the information can be easily read even from the listening position and makes almost not
necessary (while indispensable with other unit) an external screen or TV (that can however be
connect).A crucial point of the entire project is the ripping of the music from a CD to a file. In
order to get a perfect copy of the content of the CD Unison Research implemented the best
solutions for multi-reading and error correction algorithms. Lots of test using complex data
comparison (developed for security and encryption purpose) showed that surprising good
results have been achieved. As a default choice (further advanced choices are left to the user)
the audio data are store in a non compressed format that offers best audio quality at the
cost of greater memory requirement. When connected to the Internet (via the high speed
Ethernet port) the ripping software automatically retrieve all the information about the CD
(author, genre, tracklist, etc.) and store them in the local database. Every operation will look
up at this data base performing a multi-key search giving the user a full control of his archive,
no matter how many songs are stored in it. The desire of putting together the best of the
component savailable, as usual for any Unison Research product, forced the designers to find
the best Hard Disk on the market: after deep tests a Western Digital HD has been chosen. Its
special design allows a 750Gb HD to be as silent as no other one, with a lower power
consumption (leading to a minor heat generation) and thus an increased reliability of the entire
system. 750Gb are enough to store around 1,500 CDs as uncompressed audio files.Silence is a
must for any audiophile device. No noise will come from the spinning of the CD (you are playng
a file!) the motherboard is completely silent and HD is the quieter available: to complete the
system an high efficiency, fanless (thus silent) power supply has been selected.The audio stage
have their own custom made thoroidal power transformer, especially designed for UnicoSeries
high level player such as UnicoCDE. The only push button on the middle of the front panel
wakes up the entire system from a low power wasting standby state to the operative condition.
As soon as the system enters its start-up procedure, all the power supplies are enabled, a
functionality check is performed till the software takes control of the unit enabling user
interface and audio output. There would be much more to tell about the UnicoMusicServer
since it is a open and powerful system, easy to be upgraded with new softwares and features.
But first of all UnicoMusicServer is a high quality player, versatile and complete. A “music
server” but most of all Unico in its literal meaning: “unique” among its competitors, and as a

Key technologies
The PM1 luxury compact monitor features a number of key new innovations, as well as
Bowers & Wilkins technologies developed for the 800 Series Diamond. These

Execution To achieve a higher sound quality than the 805S involved carefully engineering
drive units, the enclosure, the crossover and terminals to achieve maximum synergy between
all components. Some of the features are borrowed, or trickled down from the 800
Series Diamond and some are new to this model.
Foam Damping Cap Our Kevlar® cone bass/midrange driver is renowned for its ability to
deliver clarity and detail at mid frequencies. New, though, is the Anti-Resonance Plug in the
centre. Unlike the majority of dust caps, this mushroom-shaped device is a tight fit
inside the
voice coil former. The stiffness and resistance properties of the foam are adjusted to damp
down the tendency of the coil former to go out of round under the influence of cone break-up
modes. Damp the motion of the former and you also reduce the cone break-up, with a
commensurate reduction in sound overhang.
Mundorf M-Cap Supreme Oil capacitors The PM1’s drive units are only as good as the signal
fed to them and maintaining signal integrity as it passes from amplifier to drive units is as
important as designing superior drivers. In this respect, we have taken leaves out of the 800
Series Diamond design book by adopting oxygen-free copper (OFC) for the conducting path of
the terminals and Mundorf M-Cap Supreme Oil capacitors in the minimalist crossover, both an
upgrade from the outgoing 800S products. The addition of oil reduces the
microphony of the
capacitor – the tendency that all components have to convert small mechanical vibrations into
low-level electrical signals that can reduce clarity.Mundorf
Matrix Internally, the PM1 uses the Bowers & Wilkins Matrix bracing
system, for improved
rigidity. A system of interlocking panels take cabinet bracing to the ultimate level. The
real-wood veneer side panels are more than simply a highly attractive finishing touch:
they also increase the rigidity of what is already an incredibly solid loudspeaker.
Mineral Loaded Resin baffle The PM1’s curved front and top surface echoes the profile of
the top of the ‘head’ unit used on the 800 Diamond and 802 Diamond, and to make this
shape would be impractical in an all-wood construction. Our engineers investigated
various moulded or cast materials to form the top and front baffle in one piece, eventually
choosing a Mineral Loaded Resin baffle that is constructed from the same material as the
Reference 800 head unit. The result is improved image localization, and an impressively
inert construction.
Performance “The PM1 offers a compelling blend of new technologies
and features that have
been adopted from the flagship 800 Series Diamond. The result is a loudspeaker that is
expansive, with incredibly coherent staging aided by the new Carbon Braced Tweeter.

per channel and feeds the native balanced current output directly to
Krell Current Mode
circuitry. The sonic penalties of current-to-voltage conversion are
thus gracefully avoided.
By using balanced DACs, the Cipher maintains a dual differential
balanced signal from the
DACs all the way to the output connections. This lowers distortion and
improves signal to
noise ratio to their maximum levels. Core Krell technologies of
discrete, complementary, direct
coupled circuitry are employed throughout the surface mount based

CAST and balanced connections are included for optimal stereo playback.
Multichannel SACD

The backbone of all audio components is the power supply which is
often minimized in lesser
players. The Cipher includes independent power supplies for the digital
and analog sections to
maintain signal isolation between these circuit areas. The Cipher
linear power supply is sourced
directly from the designs used in Krell Evolution e Series amplifiers.

preserves the dynamic contrasts that can get muted in players using
switching or digital power
